Before I became an out-of-the-cubicle thinker, I was a corporate junkie myself. And I was a serial workaholic. I started working early in college where I wrote for the music section of a pop-culture magazine and since then I’ve got huge dreams for myself! I wanted a big job (in media, since I’m a journalist), rub shoulders with the who’s who in the entertainment industry, and make a name for myself. None of which came true, apparently.
Because life caught up and nudged me hard in the ribs saying, “Hey, you gotta make some money, dude!” So I worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency (which wasn’t bad at all) and that’s where I got my first glimpse of the marketing world. I hopped from one industry to another: banking, real estate, IT consulting, insurance and marketing services, while doing freelance writing on the side. I took my master’s degree in marketing communications and decided to focus on what I know is going to be big in the future: digital marketing.
I am now working as a freelance content marketer, social media manager and virtual assistant helping small businesses in Australia leverage their presence in the digital world. You can check out my LinkedIn page if you want to know more about what I do aside from being a mom (and a wife, of course).
My tasks usually involve creating high-quality content for blogs, designing graphics, optimizing my clients’ presence in all social media platforms and assisting in various digital marketing activities, such as email marketing, lead generation and analytics.
I love being a marketer! I enjoy learning new things, starting new projects and churning out new ideas. I like connecting with all kinds of people from different places through social media networks and blogs, and I take pride in somehow influencing their purchase decisions through the content I create.
