Even when working from home, breastfeeding still comes as a challenge for me. I used to only put on button-down shirts during important Skype meetings, but I would have to fumble with the buttons every time I had to nurse my baby. I would look awkward on the computer screen, but lucky for me my bosses and clients wouldn’t mind.

Nursing wear is almost a staple in a breastfeeding mom’s wardrobe. I was looking for nursing wear that’s both functional and fashionable. I know there are stylish nursing shirts and dresses out there, but I find them too expensive, about P1,000+ for a nursing top. I am one of those moms who doesn’ want to spend too much on nursing wear because, of course, you won’t be breastfeeding for too long.

Kaypee Baby Nursing Wear is one of the few online shops I found that offer nursing tops and dresses that tick all the right boxes. The shop is owned and run by a breastfeeding mom herself. Prices range from P180 for nursing tops to P450 for nursing dresses, which is already a steal! I got the Duchess dress, which has a pull-up flap in front for nursing access. The dress is stylish and chic enough to wear to a party. No one would have guessed it serves a purpose other than just for style (until they see it, of course). Plus, the dress could be worn even post-breastfeeding.

I love that it fits me in all the right places. I’ve been having trouble finding nursing clothes or even just regular clothes because of my size. Since after giving birth, I’ve become somewhere between medium and large, and if you are a breastfeeding mom, your bust area would always be a concern. Also, I’m thankful that the dress flatters the body rather than cling to your problem areas (i.e. bilbil, balakang, etc), which is often my concern with other breastfeeding clothes. When you are a breastfeeding mom, it is almost an imperative that you look good and feel good. But there is also the issue of access and ease of use. And for me, the Duchess dress allowed me to breastfeed discreetly and easily, without the pesky buttons.

While the fabric (called waffle, as indicated in the online catalog) feels durable, it might not be the most comfortable material as far as nursing is concerned. I feel that it’s too warm and too dense for my baby. Also, if you are on the tall side, I would suggest wearing fitted jeans or black leggings.

But other than those, I believe a nursing dress such as this is a good investment, especially for breastfeeding moms. Kaypee Baby has a wide range of nursing clothing you can choose from, including nursing covers. They also have clothes for your kids and even cloth diapers.
